Competent Communicator (CC)

  • Complete the Competent Communication Manual - "The first 10 speeches"

Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB)

  • Achieve the CC
  • Complete two Advanced Communication Manuals

Advanced Communicator Silver (ACS)

  • Achieve the ACB
  • Complete two additional Advanced Communication Manuals
  • Conduct any two programs from The Better Speakers Series and/or The Successful Club Series

Advanced Communicator Gold (ACG)

  • Achieve the ACS
  • Complete two additional Advanced Communication Manuals
  • Conduct a Success/Leadership Program, Success/Communications Program, or a Youth Leadership Program
  • Coach a new member with the first three speech projects

Leadership Track

Competent Leader (CL)

  • Compete the Competent Leadership Manual

Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB)

  • Achieve the CL
  • Serve at least 6 months as a Club Officer
  • Participate in the preparation of a club success plan while an officer
  • Participate in District-sponsored Club officer training while an officer
  • Conduct any two programs from The Successful Club Series and/or The Leadership Excellence Series

Advanced Leader Silver (ALS)

  • Achieve the ALB
  • Serve a complete term as a District Officer (Dist governor, Lieutenant Governor, Public Relations Officer, Secretary, Treasurer, Division Governor, Area Governor)
  • Complete the High Performance Leadership program
  • Serve successfully as a Club Sponsor, Mentor, Specialist, or Coach

Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM)

This is the highest recognition a member may receive.

  • Achieve the ACG & ALS awards

Success/Communication and Success/Leadership Programs

The Success/Communications and Success/Leadership programs employ a unique training method – a seminar format involving all club members. In each module, a seminar leader conducts workshops designed to help participants develop and refine their leadership skills. The programs take anywhere from 1 to 16 hours to conduct.

High Performance Leadership *

This five-project program offers instruction and practice in such vital leadership skills and activities as developing a mission and vision, goal-setting and planning, identifying values and building a team. This hands-on, skill-building program guides you as you conduct a project of your choice in which you serve as a leader.

Speechcraft *

Speechcraft is a program designed to teach non-members public speaking skills. Experienced members of your club present the fundamentals of public speaking in the atmosphere of a Toastmasters club meeting. Speechcraft brings prospective new members into your club to see, first-hand, what Toastmasters is all about. It is a great way to promote your club in your community or company.

Youth/Leadership

The Youth Leadership Program is designed to help young people become good communicators and leaders.

Two club mentors work with a new club after it is formed

Club Coach

A Club Coach is an experienced Toastmaster who is asked to help a struggling club. For purposes of the Club Coach program a struggling club is one that reported twelve (12) or fewer members to Toastmasters International on its most recent semiannual dues report.

Club Specialist

A Club Specialist is an experienced Toastmaster who is asked to help a struggling club. This has been replaced by the club coach program.

Speakers Bureau

Members of the Speakers Bureau help other nonprofit organizations and community and government groups tell their stories to the community.

Leadership Outside the Club
Consider serving as an Area Governor, or Division Governor in your district, helping other clubs achieve their goals. Opportunities exist in Public Relations, Lt. Gov Marketing, Lt. Gov Education & Training and more! Contact your Area Governor for more information.
